Old postcards are sometimes poorly produced and grainy, I've done my best to scan them. Please click thumbnails for full size picture. Dates are from the card or my estimate (where possible). The manufacturer of the card is shown in brackets (where available). Appuldurcombe Appuldurcombe is just north of Ventnor near the village of Wroxall. It is known for Appuldurcombe House and Park for many years the seat of the Worsley family. In the Early part of the twentieth century it was used by the Benedictine Monks who subsequently moved to Quarr Abbey. The House fell into decline, and was damaged by a bomb during the Second World War. It is now a shell, under the control of English Heritage.
